All About Beauty by Design

  Yes, those of you that know me; this picture is twenty-five years old...I just couldn't resist using it.

After spending 16 years with the US Postal Service; Yvonne quit her nice, safe, secure government job to follow her heart and pursue a career in interior design. She has been the owner of Beauty by Design Interiors in Simi Valley, CA since August 1984. She knew at the early age of 12 years that she was destined for a career in interior design when she would re-arrange the furniture in the homes where she was babysitting (after the kids went to sleep, of course).
 
Yvonne started out working for a local design firm in 1980, however, the job quickly evolved into a full-time wall-paper installation business by day and an interior design business by night. In 1990, she was able to give up her wall-paper installation business to focus full time on design; specializing primarily in residential décor and returned to school.
 
In April 1995, after meeting the education, experience, and examination criteria of the CCIDC Board, Yvonne earned the title of Certified Interior Designer (CID). There is no higher level in California for interior designers than Certified Interior Designer, which is the only title recognized by law in California.
 
The following year (1996), Yvonne achieved Professional status in IDS (Interior Design Society). This is the highest level of membership offered by IDS and is reserved for those designers who have passed a national certification exam, such as the CQRID, OR certification with another nationally recognized design association. The IDS Professional member’s credentials provide customers with the reassurance that their designer is an expert, someone well equipped to guide them to the home of their dreams.
